1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 6For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

The [Right] shoulder patch’s of the U.S. Army unit’s I had the Honor to serve with or were supported by, from 1979 to 1989. [Left] click on image for larger version of picture if available.
This is the ‘unit patch’ of the Infantry School where I went to basic training and “the” Airborne School at Fort Benning in Georgia (The Peach State), therein I was awarded this, this, and this. After the final task at Airborne training, I took the “Blood Wing’s“, which is having the pins on the back of the badge, ‘punched’ into your chest.
The (All American) 82nd Airborne Division, with the Falcon Brigade, Echo Company, 325th Infantry Regiment (Airborne). I was awarded this with this, while in the unit.
The (Screaming Eagles) 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), with the 2nd Brigade, Delta Company, (Strike Force) 2/502nd Infantry Regiment (Air Assault). All combat unit’s are required to get this and the proof of it.
The (Hell on Wheels) 2nd Armored Division (Mechanized), with Delta Company, 1/50th Infantry Regiment (Mech) [supporting Bravo Company, 1/50th Infantry Regiment (Mech)], initially, until it was disbanded. Then I served with the re-constituted 1/41st Infantry Regiment (Mech), in Echo Company, with the core of the troop’s from the 1/50th, but reinforced–bigtime. Of note was the accomplishment of this. The major confirmation of my efforts came when I was awarded this.
I was selected to become an Army Recruiter in 1984, and graduated with this.
And then wore the badge [on the right] of a U.S. Army Recruiter, with one Gold Star, for 3 year’s and a month.
Then, in 1988, I was “invited” back to…
…the (Screaming Eagles) 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), though with Delta Company, 1/502nd (First Strike) Infantry Regiment (Air Assault) this tour: Their ‘unit crest’ is here (picture below):

Unit crest of both the (First Strike) 1/502nd and (Strike Force) 2/502nd Infantry Regiment's (Air Assault), of the (Screaming Eagles) 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)
The 502nd was commonly called (in my era) “The Deuce” or “Five-Oh-Deuce”.
Current Status: R., E.D. (R-etired, E-tremely D-angerous): In Storage.
Got around? Hardcore? Indeed… Or as Former Madame Governor Sarah Palin would put it; “You bet’cha!”

Articles like these put the consumer in the [drivers] seat-very important.
As awesome as I look with that ammo over my douhlser, I just want to give a big shout-out to a few of my brothers and sisters in arms, Big Newt, Steve-O, Ranger Chuck, Momo, Sha-nay-nay, Bob I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you Curtin, and all you other wonderful Bizzle types that finally got out of the Bizzle.
Amazing resume–a rare resume.
Thank God for folks like you and SEALS who make a career of keeping us safe-and ensuring our way of life, our liberties and PRIVILEGES.
It is citizen’s like yourself that make it worth it all. With just a few sincere and Heart-felt word’s. “Thank God for folks like [me]“. Though you had me after “Thank God…”
So in all humility, “thank you”, for your kind word’s and the God given ‘talent’ to serve my Lord God, as is my Duty, for Honor, and my Country, which includes you Madame, and all of your family and friend’s and the other genuine military supporter’s like yourself.
