Welcome!

It is the opinion of this older woman, that too few people know anything about the writings of the Founding Fathers of our country. The writings explain a great deal about our journey from being a colony to being an independent confederation of independent states to, finally, a unified (most of the time!) nation with influence worldwide.

Here I will gradually put in all the writings of the US Founding Fathers that are available without copyright. This will mean that if you wish to, you can copy parts or all of the works of the writers for use at your site. I will note the source of each post – most will be from Project Gutenberg, which is an excellent resource.

I commend these to you, and hope you will find them helpful. They are written in a somewhat archaic English usage by modern standards, so many will have to “reach” to understand them. I urge you to stretch your thinking muscles and figure out the usage. It will only assist you in English usage in the future.
