First Amendment
Our First Amendment states the following… “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
As of late there has been controversy with the New Black Panther Party. The first video is King Shamir saying black people are going to have to kill some crackers. The second video is Malik Shabazz being interviewed on Russia Today. Now Dr. Shabazz has a problem the tea parties speaking their mind. I’m disturbed with King Shamir saying to get some power they have to kill some “crackers”. No matter how stupid something sounds people can say whatever they want in America because of the 1st Amendment.
King Shamir saying Kill Some Crackers
Interview with Dr. Malik Zulu Shabazz on Russia Today
As much as I hate hearing the Black Panthers being racists and how Obama and his administration have to deal with the tea parties and so forth, all of us have to deal with it.
For instance if we were under a Stalin or Hitler type regime we would not have this freedom. If you spoke out against the government you were as good as dead. Now before I say this I’m in no way comparing Obama to Hitler or Stalin, I’m just giving a modern day example. Say Obama wants to get rid of the Founding Documents such as the Constitution and Bill of Rights; I’d say there is a good chance his new constitution would not include freedom of speech. Another thought is that the Democrats are on the left. Guess where Nazism and Communism are? They are on the left also.
I’m glad I live in this country and I have to thank the founding fathers for that. Back when America was fighting for independence people like Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams and Alexander Hamilton were creating our laws; they introduced laws like the 1st Amendment, which was a brand new idea at the time. We were fighting for our freedom against the British. If the Continental Army lost to the British death or life in prison would be the punishment for our Founding Fathers. So we should be thankful for the sacrifices the Founding Fathers and many citizens did to defeat the British and help make the United States a country.
